From the SO DAMN URBAN dictionary!!!!!!

1. colourway

A term, used by trainer fashionistas, to describe a particular colour combination used in the design of an item of footwear. Also used by said cognoscenti to identify those in the know (obsessive seakers of elusive, very limited colourways) from mere mortals (those foolish enough to buy any old mass-produced colourway).

This word can, I reckon, be applied to any article, or item that is available in a variety of colour combinations.
"If you didn't already know about the super-limited Futura colourways on the new Bathing Ape ***** you don't deserve to own them."

:?

So what's it got to do with bikes?

another "in" word is Uber.
uber this, uber that, uber f#ck more like.

new? i'm sure it was around in the 90's, then again we all still live in the 90's

All these so called "in" words bug the hell out of me, what next Dick Cegmon to describe our PM?

The word colourway is nothing new and has been used in the print, design and graphics industry for as long as i've known anyway, and to me means something completely different to plain ol' colour or colour scheme etc.
It best describes the alternative colour choices for say a specific design and how they can be alternated without changing the design itself to create something different, although it's the same thing.

i havent seen it but know the word from trainers, wouldnt apply it to anything else though unless it really needs it as a matter of course. i dont use the word to begin with so i doubt that
