Moderation is the key to 'use' of anything.

Responsible 'use' of drugs is no more the mark of a loser than anything else.

John McEnroe, that well known loser, smokes weed.

If any of you have any real problems with anxiety, get help.

One or two of you seem to have a real problem, and worrying about being recorded as having a 'problem' may end up being the least of your worries.

How about selling up some of your bikes and gear and funding some counselling? You can do that completely anon, a la Tony Soprano.

If therapy is good enough for Tony, it's good enough for you!

Depression, Low Mood, and Anxiety are very common conditions which are very treatable and manageable through either non-medicinal and medicinal options. They are classed as Mental Health conditions and as such are widely recognised and studied. Sadly there is still a huge amount of stigma surrounding mental illness, despite it being so common and widespread.

Anyway, alcohol and drug consumption can be seen as triggers for these conditions but are less commonly attributed as sole causes. There are many other factors such as diet, lifestyle and genetic predisposition which play a role in the onset of mental health conditions. Moderation and balance are often key messages though.

The good news is that, at least in some areas, the treatments available are very good and very progressive. Treatments are thankfully moving away from purely pharmaceutical solutions, which often mask problems rather than remedy them. I could go into detail but this isn't really the time or the place.

If anyone is finding that their negative feelings are consistently affecting their life then they should seriously consider seeking help from a GP or from other trusted sources.
