Has anyone removed the pressed in collar ring on the drive side axle of a Shimano square taper bb???

As above, has anyone have any advice on this…?? The reason I’m asking as it would give be options on bb choice if I could remove the collar due to an issue with a set of RS7’s…..

Do you mean the plastic thingy on the shaft? It's only for factory assembly of bikes and is no problem to be removed.

The metal ring on the BB shaft? Yes done it manys a times...used a knife tapped in to get it started then flat bladed screwdriver, handy enough and replaceable if ye change your mind

Ditto. Done it many times.

I carefully drill in the washer (about 2 or 3mm) to relieve a bit of tension, then pop it off with a screwdriver. Just put a tissue or something at the bottom of the cup to stop the fillings falling.
