Has anyone heard of - Shocktech hubs ?? Made in UK.

I really wanted one of those bitd. Not quite up with nukeproof et al but definately a pukka component and worthy of a build.
Not sure if they were good or not though!
They also made an elastomer fork that looked a lot like a manitou

If you got any of these then hang onto them - They're superb. The best front hubs I've ever had!
If you're looking for something that's very low maintenance, and will suit anything but very hardcore riding these are the babies to go for. I've had them over some really rough XC riding, for 12 years + and they're still running perfectly.
The only time they've needed to maintain them was when the baggage handlers at Heathrow Airport, UK slung the bike on the carousel, and a flange nut came off. That was over 10 years ago.
But they're an absolute doddle to maintain. As they have cartridge bearings just use a soft mallet, take it apart, grease, put it back together again, and that's it.
Flippin' shame they're not made anymore. If you can't find them try Pace front hubs. Pace ripped them off, but Pace only come with silver flanges, and were a lot more expensive than the more colourful Shocktechs.
