Hard to describe the emotions really...
About 18-24 months or so ago I picked up a Witcomb Mixte mainly as a donor for parts for restoring a '62 Freddie Grubb. That plan didn't work as t'other half said ooh pretty blue bike...bearing in mind she had never learn to ride, ever, wasn't expecting a major change...
Well change it did, and the Witcomb served it's purpose and she learnt to ride...we then got her a nice Marin hybrid which she's been riding and improving on ever since through lots of gentle pootles on the local roads and cycle paths, mainly early weekend mornings to avoid the worst of the traffic...
Today we did the family route at Bedgebury - OK not the singletrack red routes, and mainly wide paths that most of us wouldn't even notice...but no spillages; errant dogs, sprogs and sticks all dealt with...
Feeling extreme chuffedness and proud type things.
