ham stem, fillet brazed

No problem with "ham stem, fillet brazed" when the title of the auction in question is "Vintage NOS Cunningham fillet brazed stem" is there?

Anyway, makes sense to me. Bike stems come off bikes, 'ham stems come off 'ham bikes! ;)

Out of curiosity, what was your intent by asking him that question? It comes across as condescending in this context.

Out of curiosity, do you think we should just ignore that he was being condescending in his reply to begin with?

"Okay, interesting." was in reply to Bushpig. These 2 guys were having the conversation and to answer your question, no, I didn't detect a gram of condescension on either of their part.

Okay, interesting.

did you read the entire listing?

I did after the heads up by Bushpig. I initially didn't. I just saw a Cool stem and thought; 'lets put it in auction watch'. Generates money to fund the board in case somebody wins it.

I reasoned that what Bp was saying was sincerely interesting. Would be even more interesting with support of pics and detailed explanation why it not alike his other stems though

(I had to look in the dictionary for the word 'condescending' )

Nice :D

Thanks! I was pretty psyched with how it turned out. It has a really low seat collar which is an unusual detail I haven't seen in other Cunninghams. When I saw the original pics I was worried it had been cracked off, but it was designed that way.

Now you're mentioning it, it is kinda low indeed. Like the the slot must collide with the welding going on. Isn't it?

I had a FUNK that got the cracked > sawed off treatment. Maybe it was better than ever afterwards.
