Hadley hub question?

Hi all,
I recently acquired a GT Hadley rear hub to make a set with the front I already had. Slight issue though, the freewheel seems damaged internally. It doesn’t sound right and sometimes seems to skip a tooth before it bites and drives. The question is…. Will a freewheel from another hub (Shimano) be a straight swap? Both are 8sp. Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers J

If it's a GT Hadley I guess you need the Hadley freewheel , but some later GT hub was not made by Hadley and I understood use Shimano freehub . As I can see by picture the Hadley one is in silver while some GT hub has it black

The rear is a “made in USA Hadley” silver freewheel. My front is a GT Hadley. Looks like I’ll be stripping the freewheel and keeping my fingers crossed it’s repairable.

I did the overhaul on my rear Hadley but the freehub body was cracked and I had to replace it
