GT Zaskar - colours and sizing

Nearing the end of my Zaskar builds during the course of which and due solely to Retrobike I've become a bit of a GTaholic and am now curious to find out a little more about them...apologies if these questions have been asked and answered one hundred times already

My questions are (1) What were the batch sizes of different colours in each years run....just a general idea - was it one colour to every four or five ball burnished frames....more ? Less ?

(2) Were the colours run through the entire range of frame sizes or would, for example,a batch of 20 frames get done in one colour and a batch of 18" frames in another ?

(3) Did they ever produce any of the 14.5" frames in any colours ? (if they did then building one up will most certainly become my next quest/mission)

All and any answers will help and will be gratefully received

Don't knwo about numbers, but would have thought if they released a colour for any particular year, then it would be from the smallest frame to the biggest, can't see why they would not make a colour in a size...

I have seen an anodised blue (purple) 14.5 inch

The colored ano Zaskar frames first appeared in the 1993 GT Catalog. The early ano frames from 1992-96 were all ball burnished before being anodized which is why the colors were so stunning. Some were sold as frame sets the last half of 92 with u-brakes. I have a couple ano frames that were even made in late 91. Yes they produced 14.5" ano color frames, both my wife and daughter ride them. All sizes were made in all the cataloged colors.

93 Catalog showed Purple, Black and Aqua(Turquoise)
94 Tech Shop Catalog showed the same
95 Ink Blue Ano was was a stock color on the Zaskar and available through the Tech Shop program in 95 and 96
96 Red Ano was a stock color on the Zaskar and also available as a Zaskar LE frame set through the Tech shop program.

The blue and red frost (flat) ano colors were from 1997.

GT did small runs of other colors that were never cataloged, like green and some fades like purple to ball burnished.

Thanks alot Gm - everything I wanted to know and some nice photos to boot.....the purple to ball burnish fade you describe sounds pretty wild.....Do you have any idea of the sort of numbers that were produced of the coloured frames in general ? I'm jut curious...I have been following the anodizing thread on here and whilst GT was obviously a big set up it still must have been a lot of work to anodize a whole range of sizes in different colours

Thank Drencom...but way too big for me...I have spent ages building up my 16" frame and I love it....but the standover height is just not quite enough for me to not have fear of painful injury lurking at the back of my mind....and in the long run I don't want to end up with a garage queen....14.5" would mean just enjoying riding.....still...it's all a learning process....and luckily I'm enjoying learning

Jamie "Son of Crud" Tomkins also had one when he raced in midgets in the late 90's
