GT Xizang serial - code breakers please help me out!

My Xizang has a serial number G18336S under the BB shell (also with text "Made In USA".
The frame has canti- or V-brakes in rear (with a cable stop in the seat tube) and the rear dropouts don't have GT logos.

Can anyone tell me the vintage of this frame please ?

Can't help but mine is a 1992 - on BB: g18065 made in USA - ubrake mounts and no logos on dropouts

Best bet is via the decals (If they are original )

Sticker colors are like 1998 but the graphic "effects" around the letters are found in 1998 decals are missing here.
Also I've seen '97 Xizangs that have GT logos in rear dropouts. This one doesn't have them.

You're right about the '97 Xizangs having GT logos in the dropouts - they are also lacking the little guide welded to the seat tube which yours has (Meaning '97 models were V-brake only, with a proper 'stop' welded on the underside of the top tube). So yours must be a canti-equipped '95 or '96 by my reckoning.
