GT XIZANG HELP

Hi ladies and gents!

I’m buying a GT XIZANG, I’ve found a seller and we have agreed on a price I’m away from home at the moment and won’t be making payment for a day or two! Is there anything I should be cautious about when buying XIZANGS? There’s a few details on the bike that I would like your keen eyes to speculate on :p

Firstly there a lip on the head tube, this isn’t there on all models.

secondly there’s a different cantilever stop on the seat tube.

Does this give any information on age? Seller believes frame to be 1995.

Get cracking detectives!

Re:

When you say lip do you mean where the bottom race of the headset sits into the bottom part of the headtube?

If so thats fine and looks just like mine here.

I just love the way the previous owner has stuck a protective frame sticker on a Ti frame

So I’ve been trying to get hold of Xizang for past few weeks, when I find a seller they’re always taking days to get back in touch and then they’re messing me around! Not looking to deal with sellers outside of the UK has anyone experienced this before sellers getting ‘sellers remorse’ lol?!

Re:

I suspect it sometimes comes down to language barriers and also the way things are done in some other countries if you have had issues with sales from abroad. I’ve found most are excellent but sometimes it just needs a bit of work.

They do come up for sale quite often so patience is a must and when they do you need to move fast.

Re:

Thanks so much for your advice! It’s just so demoralising as people are so damn rude plus there are so many posers online bumping prices, I messaged one guy in the uk a very reasonable offer, responds with laughing emojis, how damn rude...

Saving myself from ranting

Re:

What are you expecting to pay for one?

Frames alone are about 600-700

Full spec , decent , period bikes seem around 1000-1500.
