 the more I read this....the more I doubt it.

I think its something to do with:- "THE very rare ALLOY GT TEAM rear" (that loads of rts seem to have...)

or maybe:- "Wanna own the LIGHTEST, best, classic, classy, trick, + unique, FULL SUSPENSION MT bike you might ever imagine?"

Make your own decisions...I know most on here already have

NEVER off road and has spent more time being upgraded + pulling the girls

Can you use a GT to pull girls? Surely the weight of them being dragged behind the bike would put undue stress on the pivot and shock, not to mention put holes in the knees of their tights?

Must be different in Eastbourne, It takes more than a 10 year old bike to pull the girls round here!

This bl**dy RTS again

Funny that he has another bike up for sale, a Giant roadbike, thats never been ridden.

Maybe we should club together and buy him some stabilisers so the poor chap doesnt have to sell all his bikes! He clearly cant ride them!

There was a guy back home that spent a fortune on kit and never took it offroad....used to try and tell everyone that he was a national rider!

The seller is clearly associated with a bike shop - look at the backgrounds in the indoor pictures - stockroom, tools on racks , etc. It's not so unusual to have old stock kicking around that needs clearing out.

I don't know about the allegedly misdescribed GT, but honestly I think you're all pushing skepticism further than is warranted.

Its all about honesty.....and he aint being honest.

If he's associated with a bike shop, and I you are right in saying he is, why cant he just say 'old stock - moving it on' :?

Yes - he said it was a legitimate sale for a friend who could provide documentation.

I don't know enough about GTs to know whether or not the description is accurate. I think the questions that the group's GT connoisseurs were asking seemed fair, but on the other hand there are often variations between catalogue descriptions and what actually reaches the shop floor.

I also think people were far too hasty to suggest dishonesty based on a possibly incomplete or incorrect description and some dodgy spelling on the auction page. The guy is obviously involved in bike retail, and has a 100% feedback score on 1300 transactions. I'm not sure how I'd react if I came across a forum page where a bunch of strangers were calling me a liar.
