GT Ritcher 8.0 1993 Build

Cheers phill yes I have been doing the very same thing but to no avail. Tbh I don’t like letting bikes go but it’s been hanging around a while now and me not being a dedicated gt fan it’s probably never gonna get finished and it really does deserve being more than just wall art

The Richter 8.0 model actually sat below the Avalanche for both '92 and '93 so I wouldn't think it will fetch much more than either the Avalanche and Bravado models of those years. I was also a bit confused about the line up in the GT catalogues because it was listed in the spec sheets between the Zaskar and Bravado, but having a closer look at the specs it indicates that the mix of Deore DX and LX it's just below the Avalanche and Bravado.
And it was one of the models suggested to me to look our for before acquiring my lovely '92 Bravado;)

On the value of the Richter 8.0, it's also depending on the parts put on the bike, it is more likely to sell if it has period correct parts but no guarantees given of course.

Richter 8.0 was a bit of a mix, with XT derailleurs, DX shifters and cassette and LX cranks/hubs/brakes.

It should be listed below the Bravado LE in the catalogue, as the steel equivalent to the Avalanche AL (thereby taking the place of the non-Team steel Avalnche). The biggest factor for me is that while most the steel frames used True Temper GTX series tubes, the Richter 8.0 is Tange Prestige Concept (aside from the Groove Tube top tube). It very much comes down to personal preference, but of the GTs I've ridden it's my favourite frame - hence keeping it as my go to offroad bike while selling several other GTs.

I'd say most people would prefer to buy it as a frame, given the mix of parts it originally came with gives a lot of room for freedom to build up as you like. If I think of someone shorter than me looking for a bike I will buy it and build it up for them!

I found out that someone on here has recently acquired a 20" for a bargain price and I am very jealous!
