Came Across this bike not knowing very much about it. That soon changed seemed to grab a fair bit of attention. Apparently quite a rare sight these days so thought I would start a thread up to gain a little more info and so some progress on the build to date photo attached was as I acquired it

It's 1993. The Richter 8.0 was only made in 1992 and 1993 - with plenty of differences between the years.

I love mine and prefer it to the similar Corrado frame which was all True Temper tubing, rather than the Tange Prestige Concept used for the Richter 8.0

I would have liked photos of the decals before they were removed in case I decide to get repros made for mine 😅

Will edit thanks for the info yes I did take some photos before I removed the decals will post up for you 👍🏼👍🏼

Totally removed the top coat with a mild abrasive bead no more rust spots or spiders in the paint did cross my mind for a second to clear coat it but I no it wouldn’t last so on with the epox prime coat

I'm looking forward to seeing how you choose to build this up. Are those rigid forks destined for this or do you have something else in mind?

I was going to go the suspension with but with a Lack of fairly priced retro suspension forks to suit the build I thought I would go the reliable ridged fork route they are from a gt wanted some salsa ridged forks but there big money 🤔

Forks painted frame decals and frame next
