Morning,

Ok, I have a Reynolds 853 tubed Psyclone, but what on earth is a GT Cyclone?! I've seen one on Ebay and heard a couple of references to them, but is it a different frame, an import or dodgy spelling?!

Cheers

That's cool.

Maybe the Cyclone was an early version of the Psyclone, and they changed the name around '92 ?! I remember a bright yellow Psyclone frame in the catalogue when I bought my first GT back in '92.

That said, the one that's on Ebay now, has a rear disc mount and brace between the seat and chain stays, which would suggest it's a newer frame or been dicked about with. It does seem to have a Reynolds 853 sticker on it as well, so would again suggest that it's a later frame.

I guess the Psyclone and Cyclone are different models then, but was just interested as i've never heard of the Cyclone before.
Cheers

It looks to me like a '98 Psyclone in 853 that has been incorrectly listed. The disc mount has been added.

Also you are right, the Cyclone was available in 1991 and then they changed the name to Psyclone in 1992.

It has an 853 sticker too. I think the only years they made them in 853 were '98 and possibly '99. '97 and earlier were True Temper.

That makes sense.

My Psyclone is a '99 - Reynolds 853 and a nice Pearl White colour!

Cheers for all the posts. Makes sense now!

I think that frame has had the rear disc mount added,
the short strut between the seat and chain stay looks
like a funny angle/position
