GT Pantera 18" Bottom Bracket Size

Thought I'd finished the Pantera but come to ride it this weekend and come across a few niggles. Biggest one been the BB that was in when I got it is to short and the outer ring is just to say brushing the frame and taking the paint off and the chain wont drop onto the granny ring. Does anyone know the correct length for the BB?

BB spindle length depends on the crankset you're running rather than any particular frame. That said Panteras take a 73mm shell width for their BB rather than the more usual 68mm.

Does that go for the early ones to? Mines a 1992 model, the best one to my mind before they changed everything and made it all soft :-(
