stx mechs cranks, alivio hubs but not certain if origina as sti's and brakes are v brake and frame is definately set up for canti.

96 era would have been v-brake and they still had the seat braze on. Likely a Backwoods frame with that parts Mix.

STX on a 96-era 7005 frame would most probably be a Pantera, originally specced with cantis.

With that SAS serial number I'd bet Backwoods especially with Alivio hubs.
I think the Pantera's were still coming out of Hodaka in 96. Someone with a 96 Pantera could confirm that though.

delivered this to my friend last night and he is really happy with it.

i think he was impressed at how light it is for the price.

The happy recipient wanted slick and a more comfort orienrated riding position.

I swapped the wheels as these need truing and the hubs sorting - I didn't have time for that, swapped the tyres, fitted an adjustable stem and a riser bar. He initially said he wanted a rigid fork but the quadra is pretty light so it stayed.

Fitted a new set of grips, adjusted the brakes and gears, cleaned the chain and gave him a specialized body geometry saddle.

Do you want to pick up my next bike for me? :)
