Right I went to the bike shop today to have my forks fitted to my STS-1. The lad said I'm missing some parks out of the suspension linkage. Can you please help me out by telling me what I'm missing and need.

Its the same top and bottom.

I think the lad is mad. Can't really blame him, tho, since the bike's probably older than he is  . My bike ('98 STS) has the same hollow pivot at the top, however the bottom is not hollow. I think you'll see many bikes with the needle bearing upgrade, which is not hollow.

Thanks for the replys. Chuck do you thinks its ment to be like that? The only thing that worries me is that the sleeve inside moves from side to side and you can see the bearings. Oh and on further inspection the bottom pivot is ok as it looks to have the correct parts inside.

OK, perhaps I was a bit hasty in declaring the lad mad. I've got an STS-1000, which has a pinch bolt to keep the inner sleeve in its place (see attached). From your pic, it appears the STS-1 has no such pinch bolt. So, best I can figure is someone replaced your STS-1 tidbits with STS-1000 tidbits. I, however, am not an expert on these matters... I've only got my one bike, which while it appeared to be all original, was used nonetheless.

all looks ok to me, perhaps he was confusing it with the replement bearings from betd, he might have only ever seen a bike with those fitted
