Retro Newbie
Hello
I am regrettable selling my 1997 GT LTS-DH frame size small. I only purchased it early this year and have spent quite a lot of time and money restoring her to her former glory. But since building her up I a have only ridden her a hand full of times. My reason for sale is that being 6'2" I am just to tall for a frame of this size. So sadly I must let her go.
When I purchased the frame it was not in the best condition but had no cracks or dents, structurally sound. It has been completely stripped down and re-polished. I replace the whole rear end of the frame with one from a LTS 1000-DS. This was in much better condition with hardly any chain slap marks. This new rear end also had the two holes in the left drop out necessary for the bold on disc mount which I have fitted. I was running a 180mm rotor on this no problem. All the bushings were checked and found to be in good condition before re-greasing and assembly. The main pivot above the BB has been replaced with a needle bearing upgrade from www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk
The rear end has no play in it and moves very smooth. The Brake cable guides have been filed out by the previous owner but take a hydraulic hose no problem with the aid of a cable tye.
The Rock shox super deluxe rear shock was in a bad way cosmetically but in good working order. After some hunting I managed to get hold of immaculate short stroke shock from the standard XC version of the LTS. I striped down the two shocks to make a immaculate long stoke shock before sending if off to TF for a service and tuning. Will send the TF invoice with frame as proof. All control functions working and no leaks! The frame has been finished off with a full set of new stickers. The new hope QR seat clamp and BBB post will also be included in the sale as well as an original GT seat clamp, all the shock spares and manuals.
This frame looks awesome now! I have many photos including photos of the rebuild, please follow this link

I apologize but I could not work out how get them to upload on to this site.
This is an excellent example of a classic GT. You will not find a better one. This frame rides beautifully with its 6" of super plush travel. I just wish I wasn't so dam tall!
£350. Viewing welcome. Courier service will be £15. Collection from Brighton welcome.
Thanks for looking.
