I'm building up a couple of bikes for friends and am now needing to know the chainlines for the frames so I can choose the right b/b

The frames are a GT Pantera AL (u-brake) believe it to be '93.....and a '94 GT RTS Team....any help greatly appreciated

My 93 Zaskar was 73mm shell and 127mm axle - you can use shorter axles like a 122mm but you have to be aware that the chain stays are quite thick and heel/ pedal arm clearance is an issue.

Later 94 frames, I think are 68mm shell and 122mm or less for compact 94bcd chainsets

My '97 Zaskar and '97 Avalanche were/ are 68mm shell

118 with a dx chainset on my 92 pantera al

its more dependant on the chainset than the frame

True, i'm using a 113 axle on a 94 Zaskar with L&M cranks, this was also fine with the previous White Industries cranks i was running.

Thanks....I realise this.....I maybe should have phrased my original question differently i.e......is the chainline on these frames 47.5 or 50 ?.... so that I can choose the correct b/b for my chainsets

Chainline is a new phrase to me.

Are you talking about the distance the chain is from the centre line of the frame?
