GT Bicycles LE meaning

I always thought it was just the designation of a bare frame with no components?

The Bravado LE was a whole bicycle

My (is it a...) Zaskar LE was bought as a whole bicycle too (27 years ago this month!)

That doesnt quite work this time as the Zaskar and Xixang etc new for the 93 year with the cantilever rear ends and two bolt clanger hangers and so on so forth so so so so so so

The previous years had been u-brakes and and and and and and etc etc etc etc etc etc

Whiffle.
