Generic ali gt frame anything from an arrowhead to a richochet
but not a backwoods as that has a 72mm b/b shell

How can you tell from that pic? :?:

i can tell nowt from that pic ian ,other than its an ali gt

however in the mid late 90,s there was no difference between
gt alloy frames in the lower ranks ,other than the OE manufacturers
"tweeks" ,by that i mean things like the length of the seat tube clamp split
and slight welding details ,i have 2 of these 96 frames from different
suppliers (the pre-fix for the frame number is not the same) and although
they on first appearance look the same the details are different
if i had more time i'd go and pic them but heading south soon
i'm sure gm will be along to correct me tho

i think tho that the pantera and the avalanche shared the same frame
and these were more top end than the others
the backwoods however had a wider b/b shell (73mm )
and a different size seatpost 27.2 iirc
i have a backwoods frame in the shed and have owned 2 others previously these seem to be a bit more heavy duty than the other
gt frames ,maybe more mtb touring ish

Ta mate. . hope you didn't think it was an arsey question. . . got this learning curve thing going on and the head needed to know ;)

With the exception of the incorporated clamp there's not much to call between these and our '98 Avalanche either.. that I can see. .

Where South you hitting??
