great value brake pads!

I'm often asking awkward questions on here, so I thought it would be time to give something back, as such.
I'd been having trouble with rim wear with my Shimano C4 brake pads, and spent a good while trying to find a softer pad that didn't cost the earth (I'm not paying ~£40 for SwissStops that will only last for a few months).
I have found Jagwire Pro S Wet inserts (they're a rather fetching shade of red) to be wonderful. The stopping distance is noticeably shorter than my old DA C4 pads, and they offer great modulation, but seem very gentle on the rims.
So far, I can't recommend them enough, and the best part is they're only £7.50 for a pair!

I have only used them on Mavic aluminium rims, so I can't vouch for their performance on carbon, or steel, but they offer a big improvement over my old C4s, which lasted forever but ate the rims, and my Aztec dual-compounds, which had a very wooden on/off feel and lacked bite.
Hopefully this will come in handy for someone :-)

Happy Riding
James
