I'm not sure how much the person who sold the dog told you about danes?
Despite ther size thier stomachs rarely grow bigger than the size of a clenched fist..you can see the way they are formed towards the rear more like a greyhound with a thin rear.
Because of this the number 1 vet visit with a dane is it's stomach issues. Did the seller tell you the dog should always be fed small meals and probably morning and night..we gave ours 2 mugs of dry mix in the morning and 2 in the early evening
when growing despite the stink and smell the first 6 months we added tripe to the dry feed and it really bulks and strenghtens those baby brittle bones from a puppy..after 6 months boy were we glad to never see it again..it stinks!!
water..as a pup never leave it around ater 6 pm the pissing part is an issue with such small insides
also because of the problem renown with them for their stomachs they should always have their daily meals from a raised bowl otherwise they suffer with traped gas that causes them painful stomach issues similar to a horse within the danes it's normally called bloat.
the raised bowls are cheap and are similar to this..butyou will need the large version

apart from the relative short life span (7 years is average) the only real breed related issue is the stomach
I loved my old danes and should I ever get rid of this wife then a dane would be a welcome replacement..at least it wouldn't nag when i buy bike stuff
OO apart from yours salty
should anyone ever want a dane there is a great dane rescue organistaion that is always looking for a loving home for unwanted dogs(rarely pups)
oo some helpful info too
