Im having a problem with my cranks,the b/b bolts keep coming loose and im having to stop every now and then to retighten them,im running a Shimano square taper atm,are the cranks taper to another fitment/standard as its getting on my tats a bit now?

the tapers might have stretched, IE - cranks have had it after being refitted / overtightened at sometime.

I've got some STX with this exact prob.

I dont know.

probably not square anymore . good for the shleves i am afraid .

Both cranks and b/b are new and havnt done 100miles yet so cant be knackered yet

Type of BB? Tapers can be different.

there was 2 types of standart for square taper BB , cant remember the neames now , check the bikepro website , could be a start .

Hmm,this would make sense,ive just removed the cranks to check the square and both sides are fine,just a tiny mark where the b/b has mated with the tapers but maybe a Campag b/b would work,AgencyScum also mentioned this on Friday.
