Gobsmacked 1988 RARE Muddy Fox Gold Plated NOS

that catalogue scan is not the bike but it is the frame the bike was never in a catalogue. I think in 1990 some bright spark thought lets get our japenesse friends to do something special with the components and bang them on this frame.

I think the retail price would of then been about 2k. but i am now positive this is not the 87/88 gold bike they were selling for 5k

Im not buying a rip off of the original. The one in the 88 catalogue is the bad boy i would gladly pay for.

We have to watch we dont get mixed up here because i that the prestige was black and had fast stays and fillit brased and cost 5k. then they had also a limited edition which is shown above which cost 600 and was also fillet brazed. and then in 89/90 we had the marble paint jobs in the katana range with wishbone stays. this bike is from that period and been blinged up for a show.

the parts are worth somthing but the frame does not convince me.

But hey it gave me somthing to think about. If he wants 500 quid for then i will pop along and pick it up, and there is a dent in it. I am i feel an authority on muddy fox and that ain't bringin 3k.

I would use it for the cannock turkey twizzler.

Talking about that i am up that way to see a client this week, i think i will pop in and have a butchers at this creation.

I feel for the guy in a way because he has been told or thought he had a magical bike and it turns out to be a frankinstein bike. I will see.

Well that's an '89 'Limited Edition' frame from the Samurai Range as I said before with what looks like some of the gold parts from the '88 'Prestige' not 'Limited Edition'.
It's not the £5000 '88 Prestige or the £668 '88 Limited Edition.
It's not a 1990 Katana bike the top end bike in 1990 was the Prestige Pro which looks to have had the same frame (Fillet Prestige but different paint job) but used a Tange Big Fork and full XC Pro.
I'd quite like this as I was after a Prestige Pro but it's not worth £3k to me as I only want the frame and would put XC Pro on it.
