Gloves off...my first Ebay dispute (as a seller)

ps he should only get a refund if he sends the item back in the condition he received it...not much chance of that.

Thanks chaps...I have the shop
Mosscrop Cycles in Southport....anyone know them?

Your'e thinking the way I am Gibble...he has tried fitting them to an incorrect BB and now wants his money back!

Oh hold on....now they are not damaged :?

it's not damage, it's because they wont fit on the bb, it's a problem for when they where made!, please call him, they are the same as when i received them form you, this is a long standing problem, not something that i have done.

The splines look fine. Did you ever mount them to a bike, if so do you have a picture to prove to him that it will fit on the correct BB?

It certainly sounds like he's goosed the splines fitting it to the wrong type of BB or the combined brainpower of him and his LBS can't order the correct one?

Tell him that you will take them back if in your opinion, once you have received them, they are undamaged. But that it's his reponsibility to know what crank set size they are and by helping him you are going out of your way - so you'll resell them for him, using superior feedback and experience, and he'll then receive what ever money you get in the new auction, minus fees, postage, and £20 for hassle.

So now it's a design/manufacturing "problem"....

As Gibbleking pointed out, this guy has already admitted in writing that he's tried to fit this to the wrong BB (despite you telling him what the correct BB is) and that the product looked fine when he got it. Now he's contradicting himself -- "it's not damage".

He's bought a crankset that couldn't be fitted to his bike, he's had a go at fitting it anyway and made a mess of it, he's taken it to an LBS who've told him that he's buggered the crankset and now he's looking for anyway possible to cover his tracks and get his money back.

Tintin's idea was perfect. Ask eBay to request pictures of the crank from the buyer. Then they can compare with those on your ad and decide for themselves. 8)

Sounds like a load of old cobblers to me and is he using some sort of translation tool to write the messages
They make as little sense as his reasoning

It takes a particularly special type of person to try to fit an octalink chainset to an ISIS bottom bracket, especially when they have 'Octalink' written on the crank arms.
