I used it in the late 1990s on the 46T chainring of my first generation XTR. After a short while I realised that my riding was not really rough enough to warrant a rock ring, and it's been sitting in my cupboard for over 15 years. Very few signs of use (a few tiny dents on the chain-facing side which would not show once mounted).
