The trouble is you need to have a good grounding in history and culture to appreciate good music and ,in my opinion,education over the last ten years has produced a generation of illiterate numnuts who know nothing
and are intersetd in even less,so good for us over thirties yes but for the under twenties.....probably not

I'm 38 (next week) and have had an excellent education cheers. Just pulling your leg about Kate Bush being too old for my dad to remember, he actually liked her very much.

As for musical taste it has nothing to do with intelligence or education, it's just personal preference.
