Hi all.
Thought I'd build up this little old Gary Fisher I recently acquired. It's not exotic, or in good nick, but I think it will be quite charming when complete.
Frame cost me £1 from ebay. It's steel. 18" ish. It'll do I hope.
Had to buy the back wheel (Sunn mountain something.....XT hub though!) off ebay for £10. Also paid for the forks.
The bottom bracket had been BUTCHERED by a previous owner. I had to resort to hacksawing and chiselling to get it out, so was really chuffed when I managed to wind the replacement BB in (with the help from my hammer
)
The rest is all parts bin and it's all pretty cheap stuff. Heavy but sturdy enough.
I might well swap it to single speed at some point but for now the gears can stay.
Not complete yet. I've found some headset cups, some pedals and should have brakes knocking about. Might have to SHELL OUT and buy a seatpost for it.
The tyres will stay for now but eventually I want something skinnier and 'knobblier' for mixed use.
I don't have any need for this bike but it's actually cleared room in the garage by using some of my spares so I'm happy.
