FW Evans ATB- almost all original

Peter Carter

Retro Newbie
Hi

I brought this in 08/09 when it was a garage find. As you can see its a first generation English ATB . A 531 ATB Evans / Saracen Conquest.

There are a number of threads on this.

The bars were sold and the rear mech broken, but every thing else : shifters, wheels, brakes and levers is orginal. There is a period Blackburn Rack as well.

The frame is ok - but you might want to think about a respray.

It lives in Walthamstow E10 . Collection is preferred or a reasonable delivery might be considered.

Interested fella.....but you also need to stick a price on it, otherwise the powers that be will lock the thread. :D

Do you have piccys

Sorry

Pictures were too big and would not load

Let me try again

£125- but it needs work on it . A new chain and a block for example..

And if you search on here for an Evans ATB then you will get a picture of what mine used to look like

The parts are 1st generation Deore ie Deer Head.

Mildly annoyed that my son broke the rear mech...

Registering interest pending pics and measurements, if your having problems with the pics send me a pm and I'll host them for you.

I ll do the wheels , levers and shifters as well

TT is 22 1/2" C to C

Seat tube is 18 1/2

Its angles are slack and the stays are so long you need two chains.

The Chainset is 175 Bio pace- which buggered up my ankle.

The BB is FAG sealed - yes its that old! I think the frame might be a year older than the groupset as I don't remember Bio pace as being contemporary with these frames

I had a 1st generation muddy fox in 85 . My god that was heavy , but the gears and braking were so much better that centre pulls and stronglight doubles...

As much as I'd love to I don't have the time/space/money (take your pick  ) at the moment, if it's still in your loft in a couple of years time...
