Fuquay Cyclocross bike

Retro Newbie
This is my Greg Fuquay cyclocross bike – hand made in the UK by the ex-Serotta maestro and one of the very few aluminium frames he made. I’ve owned this for a long, long time and didn’t think I would ever sell it but old age and numerous old injuries have caught up with me and I’m no longer comfortable to ride on dropped bars.
As you can see from the pics it is currently in single speed format and in this guise it weighs just 21 pounds. It rides like a dream on or off road – fast and very sure footed.

Here is the spec –
Frame sizes - seat tube 545 mm c to c and top tube 560 mm c to c.
Frame material – Columbus Altec. Colour is metallic orange (Greg liked orange!) despite how it may appear in the photos. Paint is a bit chipped here and there but on the whole it is excellent and looks superb in the sunlight.
Forks are the originals and made of steel. They were converted professionally to ahead (instead of threaded) over ten years ago.
The components, as you see them in the pics; USE Alien 420 seat post, Fizik saddle, Hope seat clamp, Salsa Bell Lap bars, 3T Forgie stem, Ritchey Scuzzy Logic headset, Shimano 600 brake levers, Avid Shorty 6 brake calipers, Campagnolo Athena cranks and Campag BB, DMR V8 flattie pedals, White Industries singlespeed freewheel, Gusset chain tensioner, wheels are large flange Suzue laced to very retro grey Mavic G40 rims with stainless double butted spokes (handbuilt) and the front is radial spoked. Tyres are nothing special.

I’m looking for £450 and for that I would throw in the rest of the Campag Athena groupset including wheels and you can convert back to gears, if that’s your fancy.
