Full suss/ softail singlespeed?

Anyone here running a Softail or full suspension bike as a singlespeed? Does it work out OK or is there too much bobbing around involved?
Pics would be good! :D

it would depend how they are doing it, in terms of geometry or the shock involved.

I have a softail frame I might ss. Winter is a good time for such things.

:)

You want a stiff or lockable rear end of a full sus SS as when you power up a hill out of the seat. A soft bouncey rear will sap too much power.

Bizarrely the often unfavoured URT framed (Y-Frames for example) bikes can be quite good in that when the rider stands up and ships his weight from the sprung to unsprung portion of the bike the rear automatically stiffens up as the springs are not under stress.

Generally SS is best on a hardtail

I'm just wondering how perverted I can get. My Dekerf Solitaire is a lovely bike to ride long distances on, the fit is just right, so I was thinking of maybe fitting a Rohloff hub...
My shorter rides are usually more vigorous, and the Santa cruz takes care of that. I don't really need gears for bouncing around the woods, so I was thinking of whipping 'em off. Propedal keeps things from flapping around too much, and I have a Rohloff tensioner already, so I was thinking of giving it a go...

You would need a frame where the distance between the BB axle and rear wheel axle remains the same throughout the entire suspension travel. Otherwise the chain will just go slack and come off. I doubt a spring loaded tensioner would be enough to compensate. I have no experience of this though, these are just my thoughts.
