Are all i drive,fsr and nrs models ok for cross country or are some downhill specific?

The NRS was XC specific. I think the Giant VT series was their more 'extreme' bike.

Early iDrive is XC, though you do see some that have been 'upgraded' with a triple-clamp DH monsta fork.

Riding impressions: Not as heavy as you might think. If you can deal with the high BB and compact cockpit (something I struggled with initially), it's a very good bike.
