Heard on these happening a few weeks back, seems here in the northwest they are going to happen this weekend so if your local fuel comes from Stanlow fill up today as by sunday they will be blockaded. I can see it lasting a while the way things are and they seem determined to ensure they have stations running dry from the talk aswell

If it's like the last big one (~10years ago), people will be all behind it until stuff starts to run-out at the shops. Coveniently that time, I was off work for the week and it was interesting to see how attitudes changes once it actually started to affect them (I went everywhere I needed by bike).

Start of the week: Yeah, we'll show them...
End of the week: They've made there point, they should stop protesting now, my car has almost runout of fuel / why hasn't the supermarket got any of xxx left.

My truck is SORN'd now.. can't afford tax at the mo..

So we'll be spinning some pedals for a bit.. already been out twice this week (hope anyone who read that was sitting down when they did  )

Really could do with a bike trailer though.. got 50lb of meaty bones to collect from the butchers next Friday :?

Any fuel protest will be ace until it actually affects anyone.. same mentality as the 'nimby' thing isn't it?

Get saddlebags for the dogs, it is their food after all!

I know what you mean about the nimby thing, but that is just a mix of human nature and the simple fact that we all have so much on our plates we really don't get involved in a lot of things until they are shoved in front of us.

One other thing, why the hell can't you buy Road Tax on a monthly basis?

They already charge a supplementary fee for buying only six months, why not extend that and provide a monthly option? I would use that all the time, frequently my van is unused for a month, and when I am buying and selling cars/bikes/etc. it would be a massive bonus.

:)

I found a more local one ;)

It's not a Bob Yak affair but it looks decent enough...

And that one isn't that far (I'll be done that way soon-ish).. cheers 8)

I have to re-tax the truck, my eldest has an MRI scan in 2 weeks at a hospital 15 miles away..

Problem with fuel protests is that folk need fuel to go about their day to day lives.. commuting, shopping etc..

We are fortunate in that we can exist without the truck for the most part..

Taxi each way would be hideously expensive (I could possibly ask family to chip over but they bail me out too often as it is  )
