Fuel economy - What do you get?

1988 BMW 530i (M30 6 cyl not the V8) 20 mpg or less around town. 25 mpg average and 31-32 mpg driving at (averaged over a tank) on a motorway.

Most inefficent car I have ever owned and I am very happy with it.

Wifes Peugeot 4007 does 42MPG, which is decent enough for a near 2 tonne Mum Truck.

I've just bought an ickle Peugeot 107 for bumbling to work and that's giving me 64MPG on a tight new engine.

89 325i Touring, straight 6, horrendous on fuel, but comes with a lovely sound track 8)

Roughly 370 ish miles to 55 litres if done on dc/motorway, drops to 250 on urban stuff

Girly has just bought a 2012 kia optima 2.0 turbo and they quote 34 mpg highway and over here they think it's fantastic. You gotta remember most cars in the states are automatic and use aircon more than we do in the u.k.

The f150 4.6 v8 which is mine however is around 18mpg on the highway :( which most around here think that is average)

Don't even ask about the daughter in laws escalade

 kona explosif..25 miles round trip with a few leg burning hills ridden by a "proper middle aged bloke"..2 pints of tribute and indigestion..

Vw polo 1.4TDI.. around town 45..48 MPG..motorway steady 60mph..65..68 MPG

Ernie

volvo v70 2.5 turbo

like a grounded italian cruiser for using petrol....not too shabby on a good long run...about 25 to 30 mpg if i stay near 55....if i do 75 ish then its awful..

MK3 2.0L Golf GTI

42-43MPG on Motorway, not booting it! & Naff all around Town, Needle always seems on Red!!!! Needs to go really, but can't afford to buy another Banganomic in the hope I don't have shed loads of issues, so stuck with the Golf likely...
So, don't buy one of these Mark!

saab petrol turbo
can get 46-48 mpg on a run very good for a petrol turbo
