What's the crack with these frames? Seen the naked carbon on eBay a few weeks ago which was described as being an insurance replacement but now you have a red one too, again on eBay, described as an insurance replacement? :?:

Basically they are insurance replacements as I had my bikes nicked a few months back but replaced my ride owing to my insurance taking so long to finally pay out (three + months!!!). I subsequently had to spend my insurance settlement at an actual bike store and hence bought these two frames and a fork. Both were ordered at the same time but the red one took an extra two weeks to arrive at the store basically - both are still up on ebay now actually.

I can provide purchase receipts to whomever is interested in either frame which will suffice for your warranty needs etc.

Cheers.

Cool, thanks for the reply ;)

Was the stolen one a Carbine too? I have been thinking about buying a full carbon bouncer such as a Carbine or a Mojo and wondered what your experiences of the Carbine are, how you rate it?

I had a really nice Maverick and a Cannondale Rush Carbon which were stolen but a friend of mine owns a Carbine that I have ridden on a fair bit.

He too was looking at the Ibis Mojo SL and demoed it and an intense Blur TRc before choosing the Carbine in the end. He has the red one and it is quite frankly one of the pimpest bikes you will ever lay eyes on. Its a really good climber as the frame works really well and is very stiff - and it weighs absolutely nothing.

As for the carbon frames I rate them significantly - i've had a number of carbon hard tails and the Cannondale Rush FS and the frames just work better in my opinion. They are significantly lighter and can be engineered to provide specific characteristics via differing carbon layups on different parts of the frame - e.g. stiff bottom bracket area or a more compliant chain stay and so on. They are also quieter!!

Also don't believe any of that scaremongering about carbon frames breaking or any of that utter nonsense - they are far stronger than the best aluminium or other equivalents hence why all the best downhill and free ride bikes are now in carbon - e.g. Santa Cruz & Specialized

Check these two vids out of an old Cannondale Taurine Frame and you will see how strong they are.

As for the Carbine my mate says that since he bought it he hasn't seen anything he would ever want to change to since purchase and that all his bike mags have now become less ardently browsed.

Its an amazing frame and you can choose whether to spec it a bit more XC or AM/Enduro slanted depending on your persuation as its so light and the suspension is top!

To be perfectly honest if I don't sell both I'm probably going to build one up myself at the end of the month - its been torture having these two frames boxed up in my lounge

I keep finding myself doing "mental" builds on them every time i walk in the house.

If your keen don't be afraid to make an offer. The bike shop told me there is a bit of a backorder for the sized medium frames in the UK and I got the last Naked Carbon frame in the UK for another 8 weeks.

Cheers.

I am trying to get rid of either of these before the weekend is out for £1500 if there is any interest. Price valid for today only however as there is something I am really after on ebay today.
