FS AMP F3 XC suspension fork

Lookin' polished and lovely!

I've had these forks for around 11 years (I think!).
Bought New when I was running a bike shop in Bradford-on-Avon. I didn't really use them that much as they make so much bloody noise when you use them (squeak, bloody, squeak).
They are fantastically light and, I think, beautiful.

...maybe me being fussy but I think these are early F2's - the giveaway being the preload nut being on the underside of the wedge rather than on top and the machining on the side of the wedge, where on the F3 the 'AMP' logo was engraved.

Looking nice though :D

You could be right, it was an educated guess as have none of the paperwork.
I shall have to bow to a superior knowledge!

...methinks I will have to print and frame the comment about 'superior knowledge' to show the wife

Seriously though I think that was the only difference between them - I owned a set of F3's like I described. I believe the basic design of the F2's was used on the Mongoose Amplifier (I am sure there are owners on here who will correct me on this as well!) and the only reason they moved the preload bolt was for ease of access.

and water gets rid of the squeaking apparently - at least the manual says you need to lube them with water only as anything else attracts dirt.

Agree with the I.d on these. My Amplifier has f2 with this setup and the F3's on my Zaskar have the stamped side and nut on top... I concur LOL .. Superb. Love these for sale here, worth £150 on the bay!

sorry to pull up a old post, but all three of mine have circclips holding the pivots pins in place. this one has bolts. :?
