Simon Whitten
Retro Newbie
Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to my much loved 1999 vintage Kona Explosif as she's simply not being ridden anymore (a new 27.5 Canyon full suspension in the garage!).
Condition is pretty good for a 15 year old bike with a few dings and nicks you might expect from a bike of this age, but (and it's a BIG BUT), she had a major overhaul earlier this year.
As part of a £500+ overhaul/service with Big Bear Bikes of Pickering, North Yorkshire, all the cables and most of the oily bits were replaced including sending the forks back to the factory in the US for a refurb.
It's an 18" Reynolds 853 steel frame.
I'm asking £500 to cover the cost of that service/refurb (so you can have the bike for 'free'!) with payment either by bank transfer or cash on collection from my North Yorkshire (Harrogate) address.
Here is a link to the original spec which the biked still is except I upgraded the saddle (the original was the most uncomfortable known to man) and she is running on a pair of Conti X Kings.
