Ay up retrobikers,
It's time for the trusty winter / spring Carlton to move on. The fixed bug has really bitten and i'm going to give it a go through the winter. (anyone who knows the ridge lane / atherstone area will know what a really stupid idea this is!!) I cant bring myself to 'butcher' such a lovely bike so im offering her for sale and will build another. Frame number is WA8 so i'm guessing 1978. It all looks pretty original, Sturmey hubs, rigida chromed rims, sportex seat, raleigh / weinmann center-pulls and a rather manly 5 speeds. Front wheel is pretty true, back needs a little love. Tyres are border line 'ok'. There are some spots of rust and a largish patch around the top of the seatstays which i've shown on one of the photos, but overall it's in not to bad a shape. Seat tube c-c is 58cm and top tube c-c is also 58cm. Pretty sure it's not 531. Pedals spin smoothly, one has a missing dust cap.
I'm after £70. Would prefer collection as i've never posted a whole bike before. I'm based in Atherstone, N Warks. I'd be prepared to deliver anywhere up to 30 miles from me with perhaps a nice cup of tea / bottle of beer as a contribution to fuel
or perhaps meet up somewhere at a similar distance. Can send more photos if required, just drop me a pm.
