Ha! I remember getting the train to Leeds with my bike to visit Freewheel on the Corner of Briggate, and TWG just down the road, or braving the traffic out to Headingly to call in at Stif . In the days when my mtb was my only transport...
I'd just drive there these days

The colour schemes of 1990 are my favourite (704XT in my collection )......but the 1989 line up comes a close 2nd!

" order by mail or phone".....wow can you imagine the look of horror on the average teens face if you told them they needed to fill in this form, write a cheque, put it in the envelope, address it, take it to a post box, wait 3 days for delivery, then wait up to 14 days for order processing, then another 3 for return post of your goods.

How life has changed....but i think the enjoyment of anticipation has been lost.
