I've just had a very interesting read-up on UK employment law..... Learned things I didn't previously know and I think a quick call to a specialist on Monday morning, just to see my standing..

Seems a smart move to me, whilst it sounds as though your now ex-boss is a lousy manager - you're best off out of the place.
Has he ever done any of the following: worked for a paper supply company in Slough; run a hotel in Torquay; used the phrase "I didn't get where I am today...."?
