Like others have mentioned, back in the day, when I first saw an e-stay, I wanted one but could never afford it. Time spins on and a few years back I stumbled on retrobike when looking for a source of help to restore my old rts2. Now, I hear you all think, how can I have afforded an rts2 and not an estay, well that is easy to explain. I had a Peugeot road bike and a giant mtb stolen a day apart, and the insurers paid out much more than I paid for the two bikes (one was second had and from a mate, the other was a half price bargain from my lbs), so off to my lbs I trotted and as they had accidentally ordered an extra rts, they let me have it for the insurance. Now I was over the moon with this and was very happy with it, and never road a rigid bike again. After uni, the cycling went by the wayside and when I resurrected the rts, it needed much work, and the frame had cracked, so much money, time and effort later, I had been bitten by the retrobike bug, and what was once an rts, was now two of them, a mongoose amplifier, a gt korakoram and a cadex, all in differing states of repair/build.
Now, the need for an estay had not gone, and I bought one off the forum, but it turned out to be damaged beyond economical repair, so after coming to an agreement with the seller, I sold the viable bits, we split our losses, and I karma'd the frame out to someone who had the time and inclination to have the seat tube repaired, bringing life back to the nearly dead alpine stars cro-mega.
Now how does the above ramblings make me a candidate for the rocky? Well I've yet to scratch the estay itch after a disappointing foray, and I'd happily take on the restoration of the rocky. I do spend time on my builds (mostly due to the lack of it) and would hope I could restore it to it's former glory. Oh, and it would also cheer me up no end as I'm currently languishing at home after knee surgery, wondering if I'll be able to get out and ride any time this year or beyond.
I'm sure that there a many deserving candidates for your very generous karma, so just wanted to be considered.
Good luck to everyone who has come forward, I'm sure whoever is lucky to get their hands on it will do a good job in restoring it.
