Frames with a 1 14 headtube

Didn't someone say orange elites were 114 just been talking to a guy on ebay he saying his is 118 a 91 could he be wrong or were certain years only 114
The Aluminum "O" and Aluminum Elite were all 1 1/4" headset / fork / stem from 1991 - 1993

1991. Just the Aluminum"O" - no Elite yet.

1992. The Aluminum Elite introduced. The Aluminum 'O' and Elite co exist together for 1992

The Elite appears in the 1993/94 Catalogue.
The Aluminum"O" has been dropped

In the 1994/1995 catalogue, the Elite has been replaced by the E2. This model uses a 1 1/8" fork/stem/headset.

If the guy on eBay says his is 1 1/8" he's either
1) measured it incorrectly
2) used a reducer headset so it takes a 1 1/8" fork and stem
3) Is an Orange E2 or later
4) It isn't an Orange but has been stickered up as one.

Cheers boy o boy great info so elite didn't exist in 91 also I didn't realise that the elite and the o were only made for 3 years didn't realise how sort of rare they are I ask him for the frame number see what happens

Boy o boy I think he might have pressed the wrong num 1 instead of 2 he bought it in 92 I think this is frame num a2040139 you know more than me mate cheers
So
A2 = 1992
04 = April
0139 = production number

Must be one of the earlier ones known here.

My Elite - sadly long gone. Same A204 serial number, so from same batch. Definitely 1 1/4"

Cheers mate great help idea of price think it's original but needs frame stripping of lacquer and all new decals no cracks or big dents or gouges as I can see
@baron von greenback
No problems. I've no idea on price - I paid £30 for mine all those years back but drove from Essex to Birmingham to pick it up as the owner was ready to skip it as he saw it a scrap if it hadn't sold on eBay.
@brocklanders023 - you've probably got a better idea of current Aluminum Elite values? - I sold my restored frame and fork over 12 years ago for about £120
I've paid less for Aluminum 'O's but they've got harder to find in recent years. Mine have all been passion projects where I've invested far more in restoration than actual value - but wouldn't part with any of them!
