Having my Parkpre Pro Image frame powdercoated. This bike is a rider so gets some abuse. As the frame is bare aluminium the polished finish gets scratched up and tarnishes. Constant frame maintenace is a PITA so have decided to treat it to a freshen up. The frame is a blank canvas. The company that are doing it are Aerocoat probably the best powdercoaters in the UK. Their palate of colours and finishes is almost unlimited so what do you think I should get done? Was initialy going for the chrome mirror effect powdercoat which will then be clear lacquered. They can do coloured chrome effects with fades and all sorts of magical stuff. Should I keep it simple or go for a fancy colour combo?

The rest of the kit is silver with yellow Judy SL's

i was reading yesterday about keeping a shiny bike shiny when painted

cant remember the ins and outs but someone said it might be hard to keep it shiny with just a lacquer? i.e it will lose its shine once laqcquered

probably wrong though i think

my thoughts though, how about polishing frame (job done)
and getting it clear laquered (or whatever to keep the shine) and then getting a red or yellow flake lacuer on top?

laquer will get lots of tiny scratches over time and then look dull......go for the mirror finish as it will look like polished alloy but without the maintenance.... 8) 8)
