Frame protection and general tidying up a used frame

My latest purchase for my youngest is a Mondraker Foxy carbon R. It's used and while not abused, does have some marks here and there, previous frame protection peeling, faded decals under the top cost etc.

I had planned to give the bike a full strip down and service at some point, he's getting good use out of it now so feel it will be worth doing that and while at it, do some beautifying.

There's probably not a lot I can do about the decals fading as it's under the top coat, but I should be able to cover them and also any areas where scuffs and scratches exist and protect from more than will inevitably appear through use.

Clear frame protector isn't going to be any good for this job so what else is out there that will help with this?

Coloured frame protection? Vinyl wrap? Anything else?

I see that most things linked to the bike industry are somewhat over priced so also appreciate opinions on alternatives that will work.

A new decal kit for the bike would be nice but I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

In theory I'm not averse to repainting the frame, but it would be a DIY job to keep costs down so may not be any better than covering what's there.

Normal vinyls are nowhere near tough enough. Automotive ones are better but need a lot of skill to apply properly.
Ride wrap do patterned protection film that may hide a lot but are expensive.
TBH, just concentrate on the mechanicals. I’ve found that protection films and the like are only any good if you do it when the bike is brand new and absolutely spotless. As soon as it gets used, you never get it clean enough to make a decent job.

Echo the above. Once a frame is used , forget about frame protection being added again properly. Just ends up looking a mess.
