Frame dilemma

So - advice needed from you guys who are practiced in subterfuge!

Problem - new custom cross frame coming soon which is known about and reluctantly OK'd by him indoors.
Then temptation arises in the form of a nice little Orange frame, just my size on Ebay. To avoid immediate wrath on the home front obliging friend bids for it for me and we win. Frame turns up and is hidden (sorry - stored) at friend' s house whilst I sort out strategy to get it home unscathed.

How do I explain away the new addition? Something creative yet convincing is required - I'm sure the answer is out there somewhere!

Don't explain it. Just buy him some shoes and a handbag....

Works for me.

Tell the truth. It's easier. "I just couldn't resist" may get a bad reaction, but it's only money and storage space. If your partner finds out you have been intentionally deceiving them then you should expect a much worse reaction. I know this from experience.

Sorry to be so serious, but buying a bike against the wishes of your partner isn't a terrible thing to do (unless you stole their money to pay for it). Lying to them is a bad thing to do.

Fess up, that way you can never be found out :)

i always like the cunning stories made up to cover tracks but this post is about bang on. hats off to you sunshine

Sunday roast!

Works for me - thats how wifey got past me a new trailer, kitchen, car etc etc...

Lots of gravy in the Yorkshire pud.

Yup - may be afew words short term, but nothing like teh hassle you'll get if you try to deceive and are found out!

OK - the "Honesty is the best policy" fellas win the day. Owning up is on the cards, probably sweetened by some of the more "family friendly" suggestions above.

Thanks for the advice
