forks for '93 Zaskar?

I guess it depends on whether you want to focus on period correctness, for a full bike/team bikes etc, or do what I would have done if I'd bought it new, and fitted what I thought was the best fork for the ride of the bike, that I could afford....

I must admit I'd personally go with World Rangers suggestion... It all depends what you want the bike to do. My '92 Zasakar is soon to be fitted with original Z1s - about five years newer than the frame, but if I had a five year old Zaskar in 96/7 (and been able to afford it) I'd certainly not have decided to stick with a '92 fork, when something that better suited my riding became available.

It's for battering round the rocky Dark Peak trails though - if was usually riding Thetford instead than it might be a different matter.

Phew... thats better :)

Forks

I stand corrected! Depends whether your a rider or a poser then I suppose? IMHO a Zaskar needs riding very hard, so you need a good set of short travel forks to enjoy the frame at its best. I have a set of Rond Quakes on mine and I wouldn't fancy riding up and down steps at speed or drop offs with a rigid fork, but its a blast with the Quakes.

LOL

Eh? Choosing my forks based on performance rather than "matching up the brand names" makes me a poseur? Think you might have that the wrong way round.

FYI, the last time I rode my Zas was at Mountain Mayhem a couple of weeks ago and believe me there wasn't a lot of posing to be done in those conditions... Definately a rider. I think I coped ok with the technical stuff with the rigid forks on but I can understand how less technically able riders might like the comfort of a bit of bounce up the front end. I guess if a riders skills aren't quite up to scratch, they're going to suffer on the technical bits with a rigid fork.
