hi, im tinkering with some manitou 2 elastomers and pondered the lubrication needs for these. ive read stuff that warns against certain types of grease that are'nt kind to elastomers!

can anybody shed any light as to the do's and do nots regarding lube on fork elastomers?

thanks.

Pace RC-7 grease is one of the best available.
Just put plenty on the elastomer stack and bushings.

Didn't judy butter change to sram butter and you can also get slick honey which is virtually the same repackaged ;)

I was told ( although i cant say its true for sure), to avoid all silicon greases on elastomers, as it leads to premature breakdown, also that most specialist greases ( pace, sram, honey etc) are petroleum based and that vasoline is very close to their makeup......but i wouldn't use it for THIS application, no matter how big a jar you might have!

But that was many years ago and products/ specs may have changed.
