Forgive me for I have sinned...

69er would work with rigids that are not too long, which I reckon might be the Docs plan... ;)

Considered similar myself, especially now we have been granted cycle to work scheme, big wheeled Do it all inc commute beast..? or lash it on a nice Cotic Soul, simple, BFe or similar and pretend to commute on it, I prob would commute on it to be fair its not far i'd just need a phatter lock.

Hmm nu skool temptations :D

I hope that isn't your Roadrat? After reading all the glowing reviews I succumbed via Bike2Work. Rode it literally 200m and realised that, metaphorically, I was naked and riding the bike equivalent of the Emperor's New Clothes.

Ok, no reason for heading off on a side rant but have never really understood these do-it-all bikes with their multitude of braze ons, sliding dropouts, compatability with different wheel sizes, canti and disc mounts etc. - why not have the courage of convictions and go one direction or another? Sure, some people can only have one bike and which one you have will depend on main purpose - mainly road use but some offroad then perhaps a cyclocross bike with a spare set of wheels is the way forward. Offroad but using to commute and winter train then it could be a 29er with some narrow wheels and tyres for the commute (oh hang on, am I arguing for 29ers now :? ). Courage of convictions is where it's at - would you rather have a do-it-all Heinz bike (I'm thing cream of tomato) or 57 individual bikes? My case rests.

I'm heading towards 57!!

No its not mine, library pic off their site (now comes with V brakes I think BTW :P )

I ride a quite soul-less, common and super bone shaking Revolution courier race on big wheels. I really like it cos its fast and easy to get A-B down to big wheels, light weight (25lb now SS) and effective pedaling from that alu frame but now yearn for some supple forgiving steel action rather than Alu and someting a bit more trick/interesting since it gets ridden mostest. So I could sell it and go bike to work scheme, and buy summat like that rat. I end up taking the bumpy route (roads are pretty bumpy too) so Big wheels and fatish tyres seems good. I am actually tempted to yog the C2W scheme monies on something I really want like a nu skool trail bike in steel (Cotic Soul type thing or big wheel equivalent). and in this case i've yet to try big wheels off road or yet another 26inch comes into the family which the GF and family would not get at all! all dependant on needs wants and daft ideas!

Yours

Curious!
