Was the Ringlé stem originally a different colour, and it's been stripped?

Only ask as I have a wanted advert for a silver Zooka, but this one looks a little 'mottled' and not as smooth and polished as the silver ones usually are?

I think the original colour was blue or turquoise. In the inside of the stem, there are partiell rests of the original colour.
